Thanks to the following funders, Tekla Labs can focus on its core mission. None of our work would be possible without them. Thanks!
Tekla Labs placed 1st place in the Social Entrepreneurship category in the Big Ideas @ Berkeley 2011 Competition.
As a registered student group both at UC Berkeley and at UCSF, Tekla Labs receives generous funding from both the Graduate Assembly at Berkeley and the Graduate Student Assembly at UCSF.
Initial funding for Tekla Labs came from UC Berkeley’s Science, Technology & Engineering Policy Group (STEP Group), where we took 1st place in the 2010 White Paper Competition.
Tekla Labs works together with the San Francisco based non-profit Sustainable Sciences Institute and receives ongoing advice and support from University of California Berkeley’s Big Ideas office, at the Blum Center for Developing Economies.
“It is the mission of the Sustainable Sciences Institute to ‘develop scientific research capacity in areas with pressing public health problems’.
To that end, we help local biomedical scientists gain access to training, funding, information, equipment, and supplies, so that they can better meet the public health needs of their communities.”
“The Big Ideas @ Berkeley Initiative provides funding, support, and encouragement to interdisciplinary teams of undergraduate and graduate students who have ‘big ideas.’
