Tekla Labs hosting symposium at 2014 the AAAS Annual Meeting

Tekla Labs will be hosting a symposium at the AAAS Annual Meeting in Chicago this coming February, 2014. The symposium, Open Science: Reducing Barriers to Scientific Breakthroughs, will highlight innovative solutions to engaging a broader global scientific community. In addition to a talk from Tekla Labs, the symposium will feature talks from Jose Gomez-Marquez, principal medical device designer at the Little Devices Lab, and Rabiah Mayas, Director of Science and Integrated Studies and coordinator of the Fab Lab at the Museum of Science + Industry in Chicago. Attention Makers! Tekla Labs will be presenting at this year’s Bay Area 2013 Maker Faire! Come down to the San Mateo County Events Center on May 18th and 19 to see our on-stage presentation, “DIY Science with Tekla Labs!” and our hands-on exhibit, “The Science of Sticky Flow with Tekla Labs!” Featuring our DIY laminar flow chamber!

We’re excited to spend the weekend hearing from the incredible line-up of speakers, developing our commitment to increase access to standard laboratory equipment, and meeting other groups working on global science capacity building.
