Unlocking the voices of paralysis

Also found on the TED pages is this team that used DIY and open-source teamwork to create a pair of glasses that uses eye-tracking to help victims of paralysis speak to the world again. This team just so happened to do it with a former graffiti artist, and now the technology is available to the world.

A Tekla Labs for farm equipment

A recent TED talk featured a fusion physicist who started the idea of open-source, DIY farm and civilization-building equipment. His wiki is also available here. The TED talk is EXTREMELY worth watching.

Could this be a possible future alliance for Tekla? Who knows.

DIY MAGNETIC MIXERS

A little recent youtubing led me to this DIY video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ13tkgoAHg . There are plenty more like it, too!

Perhaps youtube could be the DIY instructions site with the most freedom and user-generated content. This could be a great first source for many aspiring DIY-ers to explore for inspiration and to see what others have done before you.

And for those who are curious, Tekla Labs has contacted the maker of this video, and a tutorial is in progress. Maybe we’ll have our first 3rd-party set of instructions sooner than we think!
